Sinazo Magadlela
Sinazo Magadlela is an Associate in the Digital Media & Electronic Communications practice area (formerly Technology, Media and Telecommunications practice area), also active in the Technology & Innovation practice area. She specialises in all aspects of policy, legislation, regulation and compliance of digital media and electronic communications services, with a particular interest in audio-visual media services.
Sinazo has experience advising clients on the regulatory aspects of media and communications, data privacy and cybersecurity, and consumer protection. Sinazo advises clients on how regulatory developments in the audio-visual industry could affect clients' business interests and has assisted with legislative reviews, drafting submissions and advising on engagements with communications regulators, law makers and politicians. She has also assisted clients with licensing-related applications in respect of broadcasting, broadcasting signal distribution, telecommunications and frequency-spectrum, and supports clients from the application stage until the conclusion of the matter, including implementation, compliance and advisory services. Sinazo also has administrative law experience and has assisted clients who are contemplating and pursuing administrative law recourse. Sinazo also has general litigation experience and has advised clients who are pursuing or defending action and motion proceedings (including urgent court proceedings) in the High Court and assisted in prosecuting appeals in the High Court and Supreme Court of Appeal.
Sinazo has multi-jurisdictional experience and advises clients across Africa including Angola, Botswana, eSwatini, Kenya, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, Seychelles, South Africa, Uganda, Zambia and Zimbabwe. Sinazo is currently reading for an LLM in Information and Communications Law at the University of the Witwatersrand.
